#1 Carpet Steamers Site

This cleaner exceeded my expectations. I purchased it to replace an aging Hoover cleaner that was heavy, hard to push, hard to clean, and poor at cleaning. I was skeptical over the high ratings on this replacement, since I rather felt I would face pretty much the same problems. But, this cleaner is light (I have carpal tunnel syndrome…and it is easy to push and maneuver), easy to refill, much lighter than my old one, and OUTSTANDING at cleaning. This cleans every bit as well as professional cleaners I have hired. The brushes are much easier to clean than my old one, since they pop out and can be rinsed under the tap. The brushes look like they will eventually get clogged though, since they are encased in plastic. I hope they are going to be available to buy to replace in the future.

Anyway, I high recommend this cleaner. Be sure to vacuum before using…it will add life to your brush head and help the unit stay clean and work better down the road.

There are a number of problems that can affect carpeting. If you want your carpet to last a long time you need to know how to take care of those problems. Read this article for some tips on solving some common carpet problems.

One Problem that can affect your carpet is furniture indentations. This is common when you have heavy furniture resting on the carpet. This problem, if severe, can not always be fully corrected but it can always be approved. One way to improve indentations is to place an ice cube in the dent. Let it slowly melt and swell the fiber hopefully removing the dent. You can also use a steamer to do the same job if you have one. Place the steamer on the Carpet Steamers carpet and let it loosen the fibers. Use a spoon or other dull instrument to help loosen the individual carpet fibers. Hopefully one of these two methods will work. If they do not you might have a permanent issue.

Another common problem is cigarette burns on a carpet. One solution to this problem is to have a carpet cleaner do a section repair on the damaged area. This can be expensive though and can sometimes be noticeable. A better option for you however might be to snip off the top of the fiber that is burnt. It will leave a low spot but it will look better than a burn. Use a good pair of scissors or a pair of nail clippers to cut the carpet fiber being careful only to remove the damaged section.

One final problem common to Berber carpets is a pulled loop. You have two choices when it comes to a pulled loop. You can either cut the loop to keep it from spreading or you can try to replace it. To replace it you will want to run a bead of hot glue in the hole and slowly weave the fiber back in to the carpet. Be careful not to burn yourself or get glue all over the carpet. The method you choose is up to you but do something or else the pulled loop or carpet fiber could spread all the way across your carpet.

Hopefully these tips have helped you. Carpet is not hard to live with but it is something you need to stay on top of. Good luck.
